National analysis of mental health and learning disabilities and/or autism workforce information
Data correct as at 2023/24
Next update due: Mid-October 2025
This data visualisation was developed in partnership and NHS England (formerly Health Education England).
It shows information from the Adult Social Care Workforce Data Set (ASC-WDS) for the mental health and learning disability and/or autism workforces at a national level. You can view and select workforce information by each care need as well as by category, service type, and job role.
New national information for 2024/25 has now been published in 'The size and structure of the adult social care sector and workforce in England, 2025' report. The report uses our updated methodology for calculating workforce estimates - data shown in this report, including trends, will no longer match and are not directly comparable.
