Join our forums and network

Global Majority Nursing network

Are you registered nurse or nursing associate from a diverse background? Join our new Global Majority Nursing network for the Black and Asian nursing workforce. This network aims to provide you with a place to share insight and experiences, embrace collaborative working and access personal development and leadership opportunities.

You’ll have the opportunity to:

  • take part in breakout group discussions to network and share experiences
  • explore opportunities to access leadership development
  • adapt health resource for social care nursing
  • access training on dealing with difficult situations
  • recognise and value each other by nominating colleagues for the Chief Nursing Officer Awards
  • attend in person network session which will include celebrating global majority registered nurses and nursing associates.

Nursing Workforce forum 

This forum provides a dedicated space for leaders in social care nursing to explore practice innovation, continuing professional development, and career opportunities. Members will also gain insight into opportunities to contribute to national policy discussions and benefit from networking with peers, providers, and sector stakeholders.

The forum welcomes participation from both national and local providers, representing all care settings and service types. We're committed to making the forum a dynamic and collaborative space. Contributions are always encouraged whether through speaking opportunities, sharing ideas, or highlighting key issues for discussion.

We'll be exploring the value of nursing placements and how they benefit care providers and the future workforce. We'll be joined by guest speakers:

  • Jintana Loss (RN, BSc, MSc) – Senior Clinical Placement Manager for VCSE and Social Care, who brings a wealth of experience in shaping high-quality placements and supporting the next generation of nurses.
  • Lizzy Hutton – Senior Nurse and Clinical & Practice Development Specialist, who will share her insights on how placements strengthen both learners and care providers.

Nursing Education forum 

This forum is dedicated to NMC approved education programmes for nurses and nursing associates. It’s open to individuals and organisations committed to strengthening the role of social care within nursing education through teaching, practice learning, or research.

You’ll have the opportunity to shape innovation and influence developments from both education and care provider perspectives. You can help ensure that future nursing graduates gain meaningful, positive, and rewarding experiences in social care practice learning, as well as access to valuable post-graduate opportunities.

Members will benefit from hearing directly from others involved in nursing education, receive updates on sector developments relevant to nursing programmes, as well as opportunities to share best practice, collaborate and debate current issues and challenges.

During this session we’ll hear from:

  • Sue McGowan – Lecturer in Mental Health Fellow at Middlesex University will be sharing insights from her work with the Dementia in Higher Education Network.
  • Lorna Hollowood – Assistant Professor in Adult Nursing at the University of Birmingham’s College of Medicine and Health. Lorna will be talking about her research on the experiences of ethnic minority communities in care homes, a vital perspective in shaping more inclusive care.

Social Care Network for Students and Early Career Nursing

In partnership with and led by the Council of Deans of Health we have also launched the Social Care Network for Students and Early Career Nursing.

  • If you’re a student nurse or nursing associate or just starting out in your nursing career in social care this is designed for you.
  • If you’re a care provider hosting students or an employer of newly qualified nurses and nursing associates then please encourage them to get involved as it is a great opportunity for peer support, developing a collective voice, hearing from others and understanding local and national nursing policy.
