Overview
This London Summit will showcase how partnerships and engagement has shaped service and workforce development to improve service delivery and have positive impact on people drawing on care and support.
What to expect
The summit will begin with an introductory session which sets the scene with good practice examples of partnerships that have had a positive impact on workforce development and service delivery. This will be followed by optional workshops and an afternoon interactive plenary with author Joe Cheal which will explore his work on leadership and workplace culture.
Participants will attend two out of three breakout sessions which will cover the following:
Session one - Developing student nursing placements in social care. This session will showcase how social care employers have worked successfully in partnership with education providers to enable student nurse and nursing associate placements in social care settings.
Session two - The Level 2 Care Certificate qualification – case study of programme development, delivery and impact on the workforce.This session will summarise the Care Certificate qualification and showcase a delivery model for the Care Certificate qualification and highlight how partnership working between employers and training providers to develop programmes can positively impact on the development of the workforce to deliver quality care services.
Session three - Developing the workforce to support people who are living with dementia. This session will showcase innovative and compassionate care to people living with dementia, including how building friendships with others can bring connection and joy to the people we support as well as how innovation can enhance people's care
Learning outcomes
Participants will:
- Gain an overview of the impact of working in collaboration.
- Develop an awareness of what good looks like to work in partnership to enhance workforce development.
- Develop tools and strategies to put into practice to deliver and evidence high quality personalised care.
