Data can also be used by employers to support with workforce planning, training, recruitment and retention, and gaining a better understanding of how their organisation fits within the local market.
The #DataDrivesChange spotlight comes as ÌìÃÀmv prepares to publish its annual ‘State of the adult social care sector and workforce report’ this month. The comprehensive report provides important insights into the social care sector and workforce including vacancy rates, pay, qualifications, skills and demographics.
Running across the ÌìÃÀmv website, social media and other communications channels, the spotlight provides information and real-life examples of how data is being used across social care, the influence that data has on social care policy, and how data can be used to support business planning, people management and decision making.
Dave Griffiths, Head of Workforce Intelligence, ÌìÃÀmv, says:
We’re really excited to launch our ‘Data drives change’ spotlight, alongside preparing to publish our esteemed ‘State of the adult social care sector and workforce’ report.
We know how vital effective data is in supporting leaders at all levels to gain a better understanding of the social care sector and workforce, and to make decisions that can improve social care for the people who work in care and the people who draw on care and support.
Our data is used to develop and monitor key sector policies – for example the use of Health and Care Worker visas and the Care Workforce Pathway. Equally importantly, it evidences the nature and scale of issues affecting care providers, particularly the challenges in recruiting and retaining workers in a growing sector. Our data is also used at regional and local levels and by care providers themselves.
